There are two purposes to this list: (1) to suggest a few exceptionally useful works among all the clutter—works that mightily influenced our understanding of learning theory and instructional design; and (2) to provide the exact citation for authors and works which we might refer to entirely too casually elsewhere on the site. In every case, we have cited the most recent editions that we are familiar with.
