| The number
of other websites and weblogs about e-Learning and virtual communities
is astonishing. We bookmarked many, but wanted to keep this list to
a manageable dozen or so.
We have
not
included
here
the
basic websites (e.g.,
learningcircuits) or the academic ones without an emphasis on the
practice of developing e-Learning.
Cardean
University
The site has a free demonstration program on branding/marketing that
is exceptionally well done. Perhaps the best example of web-based
training we've seen.
a
virtual communities information aggregator
A list of hundreds of websites relevant to virtual learning communities. Overwhelming
for the novice, and unfiltered (so there's a lot of junk here, too) but fascinating
to see the range of information available.
linezine
Well-informed
and stimulating perspectives, mostly in the form of extensive articles
and interviews.
Guided
Learning
The website of our parent organization, so perhaps we may be excused
from including it here. One may access a number of online programs,
from Avoiding Sexual
Harassment to complying with Banking Regulations (Title 31) for Casinos. Internet
Time Group
Prepared by a consultancy in web-based learning. The principal, Jay
Cross, has a fresh outlook and a rhetorical flourish. Maintains a weblog
of
considerable
value.
e-Learning
related blogs
Excellent source of information and discussion on the use of web logs as
a learning tool.
eModerators
Resources for moderators and facilitators of online discussion. Dated,
but a useful starting point for new and experienced facilitators.
techsoup
A variety of free and inexpensive software is available at this site, which was
developed by and for nonprofit organizations.
virtual communities
A directory of dozens and dozens of resources, including software, applications,
white papers, and vendors on virtual communities and related practices.
